Hey guys, it’s been a while! My last entry here is from over 3 years ago! Time flies when you’re having fun (or when you spend two years away from normal life because of a pandemic….lol).
This is just a quick blog (does anybody still read blogs?) to keep on record what happened since my last post back in October 2019. At that time Giuliano left the band and I started the auditions to find a new drummer. After auditioning a few time wasters I finally found someone good, we actually got to book a gig with the new line up but then the world closed down coz of corona in March 2020.
Fast forward two years, one afternoon in March 2022 while chatting on the phone with Giuliano we talked about playing a show together again. Coincidentally, just one day later we got the offer to play at Cart & Horses in East London. That’s the famous venue where Iron Maiden played their first gig ever back in 1977! I’ve always wanted to play there so we took the gig.
We had one month to get ready to be back on stage. On the first rehearsal we were a bit rusty coz we didn’t remember all the details for the bass track but if felt like we had never stopped playing together. After the second rehearsal we were already ready for the show!
It was great to be back on stage after two years and a half! It was the first time in my life that I didn’t play a gig for that long!
After that show we decided to book a gig in May at one of our fave London venues, St. Moritz Club. Around the same time we got an offer to play in June at The Rock Den in Hatfield, another one of our fave venues.
A friend of mine Mark came to see us at St. Moritz Club and a few weeks after that show he asked us if we would like to play in September at Hadleigh Summer Fayre. We said yes and since Mark is a bassist he got on board to play bass with us. It was the first time in over five years that we played as a power trio. On that show we also had a special guest singing a cover song with us. My mate Carlos sang Killing in the Name and it was great!
Live at Hadleigh Summer Fayre (our first show as a power trio in five years)
We played at St. Moritz Club in August and we debuted a new song, Ego Illusion. In October we played there again, this time as a power trio.
I’m writing this blog on the first week of 2023. We have just announced a birthday party show for the 4th of February at St. Moritz Club. Mark’s birthday is the same day as mine (5th Feb). This is gonna be a good party!
If you are reading this in time, come celebrate with us. Details can be found on the shows section on our website (click here).
That’s it for now. Bring on 2023!
Rock on!!
